Barmasse-Göttler go for unclimbed southwest face of Gasherbrum IV (7.925 m)

Italian climber Hervé Barmasse and the German David Göttler have announced to climb the one of the most beautiful and complicated mountain in Karakoram, the Gasherbrum IV (7.925 m) from the southwest face.

German David Göttler wrote on his face book, “The journey begins! same same but different as they often say…originally @hervebarmasse and I planned to go to G1 from the north but we were not granted all the permits we required so we changed to another objective that had been in mind for a long time. Gasherbrum IV”

The route chosen by the climbers is the toughest one and they will climb in pure alpine style without any supplement oxygen, fixed ropes, fixed camps and high altitude porters. They also intend to go green as still the south west face is untouched with no human foot prints and free from pollution and garbage.
