According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the tourists were trapped due to early heavy snowfall first they were searched by the Pakistan Army Aviation Helicopters, they were provided food and warm clothing. 2 dozers were deputed to clear the road. ultimately the road was cleared to rescue the tourists.
Meanwhile, an army rescue team with relief items has left Chilas to Babusar by helicopter to rescue stranded tourists and local residents in Gattidas and adjoining valleys due to heavy snowfall.
